The Life and Legacy of Ms. Barbara Jean Pratt
Barbara Jean (Ross) Pratt returned peacefully at the age of 90 to the Lord on August 27, 2023. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to John T. Ross Marvel Marion( Sanders) Ross on May 29, 1933. Barbara was born a twin but her brother passed at birth. Barbara is most exemplified as a daughter, mother, and friend, but most importantly a child of God.
Barbara worked and retired for General Motors in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Barbara was a faithful member of St. Phillip's Episcopal Church, in Grand Rapids, MI, where she served on the Vestry, Sunday School Teacher, ECW, and Calendar Sales to raise money for the church, League of Women Voters, and Parade of Homes.
When her boys were younger, Barbara was a Boy Scout Leader. Barbara loved to bowl and travel. She experienced all of this when she joined a traveling bowling team. She was currently a member of the Wyoming Senior Center, where she loved to exercise.
Barbara enjoyed the holidays with her family. She also looked forward to every Friday going to the Salon with her two daughters Satin and Marvel, then out to lunch and that glass of wine. She was extremely proud of her sone Lawrence (Bim) for his knowledge and skill in motorcycle racing. Her face would light up whenever he entered the room.
Your love for your children, family, and friends was consistently expressed when you told us you loved us. Barbara was the mother of six children.
Ms. Pratt leave to cherish her legacy, 2 daughters Satin Love and Marvel (KP) Porter of Grand Rapids, MI, 1 son Lawrence (Bim), (Barbara) Pratt of Grand Rapids, MI. 16 grandchildren , 38 great-grandchildren, and 27 great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Barbara is now resting peacefully with her father and mother Mr. & Mrs. John T. Ross, her sons Clarence (Buddy) Pratt, John (Lil Bro) Pratt, and her daughter Cheri(Sugar Fox) Simmons, who preceded her in death.
All that truly matters in the end is that she was truly loved
