Bryant Duane Nixon Sr. was born on May 28
th
, 1976 in Grand
Rapids, MI to Alicia Nixon, and Jones Calvin. Bryant was an
amazing guy who had a passion for cooking, and loved to feed
everyone, especially his family. He was considered the “Black
MacGyver” amongst his peers as he was known for taking things
apart, then putting them back together. He was that good, and took
pride in everything he did. Bryant had a magnetic personality as
people were always drawn to him, and his big beautiful bright
smile. He enjoyed life, and was the life of any party. He was our
“Wild Child”.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Lorraine
Nixon, aunt Shirley Nixon, uncle E.G. Griffin, and the mother of
his children Nicole Dibble.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his parents, Alicia Nixon, and Jones (Carolyn) Calvin, all of
Grand Rapids, MI; paternal grandmother, Carrie Calvin of Rome, MS; two daughters, Jamaceya
and Alicia Nixon both of Grand Rapids, MI; seven sons, Bryant Jr. of Cincinnati, OH, Deshawn,
Brayvon, Jaron, Keon, Jayden, and Marshe all of Grand Rapids, MI; one granddaughter; seven
sisters, Alicia Nixon, Shanndolyn Nixon, Lateashia Cockrell, Terri (David) Ellis, Miranda
Cockrell, Claudia Calvin, and DeJanae Calvin all of Grand Rapids, MI; four brothers Jonathan
Nixon, Jason (Lakiesha) Calvin, Deon Calvin all of Grand Rapids, MI, and Jonas (Temeka)
Calvin of Loganville, GA; two special nephews Tayvone and Timothy whom he treated like his
own sons; a very special friend, Rachel Glady; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
Bryant will be greatly missed by many, and loved forever.
