Cheri Ann (Pratt) Simmons

Obituary
Cheri Ann Simmons, aged 63, of Wayland, MI passed into the arms of Jesus on April 7, 2022.
She was born in Grand Rapids, MI on October 15, 1958, to Barbara Pratt and Clarence Pratt.
Those gone before her are daughters Tonya and Tina Simmons; brothers John and Clarence
Pratt; brothers-in-law Robert and John Simmons; and sisters-in-law Bonnie Hall and Ann Partee.
Waiting to join her are husband Samuel Lee Simmons Sr.; sons Jason (Patience), Sam II
(Dyana), and Jessy (Marie) Simmons; daughters Tammy Mitchell and Maranda Wares; mother
Barbara Pratt; sisters Satin Love and Marvel Porter (KP); brother Larry Pratt (Barb); 19
grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Cheri loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending
time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She hosted and helped plan family
reunions, including the Old Settlers in Mecosta County, Michigan, and the Thomas & Simmons
families who settled in various states across the country. She enjoyed traveling, camping, raising
horses, and riding motorcycles. Her strong faith in Christ was evident to all who knew her.
Family and friends may visit at Brown’s Funeral Home, 627 Jefferson Ave. SE, Grand Rapids,
MI, 49503 on Friday, April 15 from 2-5 PM. Celebration of life will be held at Wellspring
Church of Grand Rapids, 811 Wealthy St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI, 49506 on Saturday, April 16 at
12 PM with Family Hour starting at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Oakhill Cemetery.
