Obituary
Darlene McIntosh Turner was born on December 21,
1955 in Jackson, Tennessee to Glenda and Lonell
Johnson Sr.
Darlene moved from Jackson, Tennessee to Grand
Rapids, MI at the age of five. Darlene was always an
outgoing kid, filled with a bold and fearless character.
Darlene gave her life to Christ and was baptized at
Bethlehem Missionary Baptist church at the age of 10.
Darlene attended South Middle School. Darlene was
married to Curtis McIntosh in 1971. And later married
Arthur Turner.
Darlene had a great love for the children in the family,
She would gather them for sleepovers and tea parties
filled with junk food and no adults allowed. Darlene was
known to make a mean Peach Cobbler back in the day.
Darlene is preceded in death by her parents Glenda
and Lonell Johnson Sr, Three brothers Lonell Johnson
Jr, Larry Johnson and Barry Hampton. Her husband
Arthur Turner. Darlene leaves to cherish her memories,
one son Chaka McIntosh, Her very special partner
Garcia Nelson. One grandson Ramone McIntosh, Five
granddaughters Markeia, Chakya, Jada, Kenyalie and
Murjoni. One brother Cleveland “Ray” Johnson. Three
sisters Mary Jean DeBose, Glenda Quinn and Rosemary
Johnson all of Grand Rapids MI. A host of nieces,
