Derek Ronald (Jr.) Manning

Derek Ronald Manning Jr. was born on October 9, 2012, to Amie Laramy and Derek Manning Sr. in Grand Rapids, MI. On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Derek was called to his eternal home with Jesus Christ, leaving behind a legacy of love and light at the tender age of 12.

Derek was an all-star athlete with an infectious enthusiasm for life. He loved playing football, baseball, and basketball, always giving his best and bringing joy to those around him. When he wasn’t on the field, you could often find him by the river, his fishing pole in hand. 

Derek’s warm spirit and laughter will forever be cherished. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lucius and Lora Manning, and his beloved aunt, Cheri Manning. Derek’s memory will be lovingly carried on by his devoted parents, Amie Laramy and Derek Manning Sr., his two brothers, Taaron and Cameron Laramy and his loyal dog, Remi.
