Hubert Lamar Reid

Hubert Lamar Reid (75), of Kentwood, MI, passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2026.

He was born on May 29, 1950, in Shannon, MS, to Menolia Shumpert Reid and Clyde Reid. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Hubert confessed his faith in the Trinity—God the Father, Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit—at the age of ten (10). He was baptized at Black Oak Baptist Church in Shannon, Mississippi. His favorite Bible passage was Psalm 23.

He is survived by his son, Darrell Reid; his granddaughters, Andromeda Reid and Orion May Reid; his siblings, Florence Davis, Elnolia Roberts, Regina (Patrick) Brookens, and Mary Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Hubert also leaves to cherish his memory his special friend, Patricia “Patsy” Forbes, and his caretakers, Eric “Boo” Forbes and Sheinelle Forbes.
