Mrs. Jimmie Lee (Ware) Chester

Obituary

Jimmie was born in Cary, Mississippi on March 6,

1935 to the late Mr. Freddie Ware Sr. and the late

Mrs. Emma Berry Ware. She was employed in

several jobs as chef/cook at Duck’s Restaurant and

Kent Country Club. She was employed with the

Grand Rapids Public Schools for overs 10 years where

she retired in January 1999.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, music

(especially blues and gospel) and cooking. She had a

quick wit and loved making people laugh.

She was preceded in death by her father Freddie

Ware Sr., her mother Emma Berry Ware, Jesse Libbett

(husband), Willie B. Williams White (sister), Moses

Ware (brother), Burnell King (brother), Jimmy Ware

(brother) and her son Larry Darnell Ware.

To celebrate her life and cherish her memory, Jimmie

leaves her seven children: Lennie (Jacques) Cannon,

Sharon Richards, Billie (Darnell) Riley, Vickie Libbett,

Tommy Libbett, Paula Libbett and Cleo Libbett, all of

Michigan. She also leaves a sister, Heneritta Ware

and a brother Freddie Ware, both from Mississippi.

She leave 17 grand children, 45 great grand children,

12 great great grand children and many other nieces,

nephews, cousins, family and friends.
