With heavy hearts, we sadly announce the passing of Raomito Salazar, son of Patricia Valdez, who moved on to glory last week at the age of 61 in Springfield, Virginia.Raomito, better known as “Rick” or “Cozy”, leaves behind his two loving children, Paris Francis Jackson, 35, Rikki Brianna Angyelof, 26, and his newborn grandson, William Joseph Angyelof III.An entrepreneur, amateur comedian, one-of-a-kind storyteller and DC-area fashion icon, Rick spent his life making others laugh and striking up friendships with people of all ages, races, genders and creeds. Nothing brought Rick more happiness than others’ happiness, being with his family, seeing the world and learning about different cultures.Cozy could’ve been Rick James’ spirit animal, complete with Smithsonian-worthy outfits, a deep love for all things funky and even catch phrases like, “Free your mind and your ass will follow,” and “Tell all your business and you won’t have no business.”His grandiose personality will be as missed as his kind, gentle spirit. Please join us in celebrating his life at Brown’s Funeral Home on Sunday, October 4th at 12PM.
