Rochelle Felicia (Thomas) Colvin

Rochelle Felicia Thomas Colvin was given life on March 17, 1969 and took her last
breath to rest from this life on September 27, 2022. Rochelle was born to Eloise
Thomas who proceeded her in death when she was 8 years old. She was raised by
Pearlie Mae and William Vinson (grandparents) who also proceeded her in death. We
all affectionately called her “Felicia”.
Felicia married George Colvin from which she gained a faithful and loyal friend for
the rest of her life. He would be the rock that she needed during her last journey.
From this union they had a daughter Chandler Anissa Colvin, whose beauty, strength,
and intelligence goes beyond measure.
Felicia attended Ottawa Hills Elementary, Iroquois Middle and Ottawa Hills High
School. As a child she was full of life and curiosity. That energy went right through
school and into her adulthood. Felicia loved mentoring people and selected the
insurance environment as her professional journey for many years. Felicia also had a
deep love for God. She was a leader, a motivator and encourager that moved her to
do more for her church than just attend. She served as a Deacon for New Hope Baptist
Church. Her love for God and his people allowed her to touch many lives in a positive
way. On her final journey, she became a stay-at-home mom. She was a dedicated
mother that always put Chandler first. Felicia had a smile that would light up a room
and a voice that commanded the respect to be heard and a heart that held a great love
for many.
She has one loving sister, Erika LaShay Thomas – Jacksonville, FL and one niece
Brooklyn Thomas – Gary, IN of which the four were very close. Due to the unique
challenge as a child, Felicia gained a host of sisterly aunts and brotherly uncles; Renee
(Tony) Sorrells – Villa Rica, GA; Patricia Jarnegan – Villa Rica, GA; Debra-deceased
(Willie) Brooks; and Earlene (Derick-deceased) Hinkle – Grand Rapids, Equila
Thomas (deceased), Alonzo Thomas- Grand Rapids, MI. Also leaving behind; Aunts
and Uncles: Cathy Beavers – Jolie, Ill; Carren White – Peoria, Ill; Sandra Wesley –
Collierville, TN; Glenda Thomas – Peoria, Ill; James Thomas Jr. – Memphis, TN;
Homer Thomas – Washington, DC; Tina Lablanc – Grand Rapids, MI; Celeste Carter
– Jemison, AL; Ervin (Diane) Vinson – Grand Rapids, MI.
Felicia leaves to morn many cousins and friends who she loved and who loved her
dearly
