Sharon Kay Williams Crosby, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend,
peacefully entered eternal rest on April 17, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on December 15, 1938, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Sharon was the cherished daughter ofEvelyn and Theodore Williams. She was one of nine siblings: six sisters and three brothers.Sharon’s life was one defined by compassion, creativity, and community. A kindhearted andgentle spirit, she dedicated 10 years of service to the Board of Education and later found joyand fulfillment working at Family Fare, where she ultimately retired. Sharon never met astranger. Her warm personality and sociable nature earned her countless friendships over theyears.Gifted with immense artistic talent, Sharon’s creativity shone brightly from an early age. Herskill was recognized when she won a scholarship to the prestigious Kendall College of Art andDesign, a testament to her extraordinary gift. She also modeled for the Blanche LeBaronBoutique, a remarkable achievement, especially in her era, and an inspiration to many. A woman of faith, Sharon accepted Christ at a young age and remained a devoted member ofMessiah Missionary Baptist Church. She attended and participated faithfully, even up to theweek she was hospitalized. Her deep love for God was evident in how she lived her life, servingothers, encouraging her neighbors, and giving back through generous acts of kindness.Sharon enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: good music, joyful fellowship, and delicious meals,especially those she made herself. Known as a phenomenal cook and a grill master, she broughtloved ones together around the table and under the sun.More than anything, Sharon treasured her family. She shared a deep, unbreakable bond with hersisters and delighted in spending quality time with those she loved most. Her presence broughtwarmth, her laughter brought light, and her love left a mark on every heart she touched.She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Theodore Williams, and six of her siblings.Though she has transitioned from this life, her legacy continues to live on.She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory her loving siblings: Carol Holt, MarvaWilliams, and Merle Smith, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan; godchildren: Greg, Cameron, Quintin,and Dominique; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, andfriends, too many to name, yet each one dear to her heart.Though Sharon’s earthly journey has ended, her spirit will continue to live on in the beautifulmemories she created, the kindness she gave, and the love she shared."Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of your Lord." – Matthew 25:23Sharon Kay Williams Crosby
