With deep love and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Steven Joseph Kemp, who entered eternal rest on January 20, 2026. Born on September 3, 1961 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Steven spent 63 years enriching the lives of those around him with his kindness, steady presence, and generous heart.

Steven was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Steven possessed a unique gift for storytelling, effortlessly drawing people in with his humor, warmth, and vibrant personality. He had a remarkable ability to fill any room with laughter and bring a smile to the faces of everyone around him. His stories, his jokes, and his joyful presence created memories that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Kemp; his mother, Charlene Alber; one brother, Kenneth Kemp; and his precious granddaughter, Heather Edwards, whom he now joins in eternal peace.

He survived by his beloved wife, Debra Kemp, who remained his constant companion and source of strength. He leaves behind his three children—Shane Edwards, Chavae Edwards, and Le’Debra Kemp—each of whom carries forward his legacy of resilience, compassion, and deep family devotion.

Steven was a proud grandfather to thirteen grandchildren and a joyful great‑grandfather to two great‑grandchildren, all of whom brought tremendous pride and light to his life. He is also cherished by a host of nieces and nephews who will forever keep his memory alive.
