Willie Outlaw Obituary

Willie Bernard Outlaw was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, cousin, and friend. He was caring, funny, charismatic, humorous, kind, and highly intelligent. Willie truly loved gathering with family— especially spending time with his sister, Bridget—and he always found humor in everything, often rapping lyrics with jokes that kept everyone laughing.

Willie enjoyed singing, cooking, cleaning, fixing things, and simply being “Boobie.” In his younger years, he loved playing basketball and football, riding dirt bikes, and most of all hanging out with his “homies” and brothers at heart, Zackary Portis and Michael Sterling. Willie attended Union High School and went to Seidman Center after school to play basketball.

Willie accepted Christ at an early age and maintained a strong relationship with God throughout his life. He was frequently found at his mother’s home—cutting grass, rebuilding something, or creating something new— always striving to make her proud.

Willie was the oldest of three siblings. He was born on March 23, 1971, to Brenda Anderson-Cushionberry and the late Willie Outlaw, Sr. He was blessed with a loving stepfather, the late Paul Cushionberry.

Willie was preceded in death by his father, Willie Outlaw, Sr.; his stepfather, Paul Cushionberry; his sister, Amanda Roberts; his grandmother, Deloise Anderson; his uncle, Keith Anderson; and his aunts, Ethel Lee and Eileen Anderson.

Willie leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Roslin Sims-Outlaw; his loving mother, Brenda Anderson-Cushionberry; his sister, Bridget Anderson; his children, Shakea Howard, Shanquel, Ja’tavious, and McKenzie Outlaw; three nieces, Shadae Roberts, Stacy Lloyd, and AliJahiana Tyler; two nephews, Marcus Patrick and Marquis Bradley; four uncles, Elmer, Terry, Kim, and Rodney Anderson; one aunt, Gracie Anderson; eleven grandchildren; a special friend, Sharon Huffman; and a host of other relatives and friends.
